With advances in technology, a mobile device today is like a mini PC that provides voice and data services in the form of smart-phones. Phenomenal increase in data services which enable mobile communication access to critical aspects of human society/life has led to standardization of SAE/LTE (System Architecture Evolution/Long Term Evolution) by 3GPP and IEEE 802.16e/WiMAX. SAE/LTE is also known as Evolved Packet System (EPS). This book addresses the newer security issues that have arisen as a result of penetration of mobile communications and standardization. I! n particular, the book focuses on the latest security developments in 3GPP SAE/LTE and WiMAX. The intended audience for this book are mobile network and device architects, designers, researchers and students. The goal of the authors, who have a combined experience of more than 25 years in mobile security standardization, architecture, research, and education, is to provide the book's readers with up-to-date information about the architecture and challenges of EPS and WiMAX security. The book has six chapters; the first three chapters are intended to be introductory ones, and the remaining three chapters provide an in-depth assessment of security provisions. Chapter 1 provides a background to the Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN) activity and requirements. Chapter 2 provides an overview of security, telecommunication systems and their requirements. Chapter 3 provides some background information on standardization. Chapter 4 discusses the EPS (or SAE/LTE) security a! rchitecture developed by 3GPP, in particular, the authenticati! on and k ey agreement method for SAE/LTE together with newly defined key hierarchy. This chapter also addresses the challenging aspects of SAE/LTE interworking and mobility with UMTS together with the necessary key-exchange technologies. The focus of Chapter 5 is WiMAX (IEEE 802.16) security and provides an in-depth discussion of the WiMAX security requirements, the authentication aspects of PKMv2, and the overall WiMAX network security aspects. Chapter 6 briefly covers security for (i) Home(evolved)NodeB [H(e)NB is the Femto solution from 3GPP], (ii) Machine-to-Machine (M2M) security and (iii) Multimedia Broadcast and Multicast Service (MBMS) and Group Key Management.Hephaestus Books represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. From the author: A fine fibril structure of a thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer (TLCP, a poly(ester amide)) can be developed in a shear flow field of a thermoplastic matrix (polystyrene, PS). Addition of a third component, a poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (SMA), that interacts with the thermo! tropic liquid crystalline polymer facilitates the structural d! evelopme nt of the TLCP phase by acting at the interface. Moreover, it brings about good adhesion at the interface and enables the dispersed liquid crystalline polymer phase to be deformed in shear flow without strong elongation even though the viscosity of the matrix is much lower than that of the liquid crystalline polymer. The mechanical properties were substantially improved because of both the good adhesion at the interface and fibril generation, which were ascribed to the SMA interaction. These results have important implications in that they provide a means to produce strong and tough in-situ composites when the viscosity of the matrix polymer is lower than that of the dispersed liquid crystalline polymer which is Immiscible with the matrix polymer. Morphological observations determined the significance of the third component (SMA) in immiscible polymer blends, and an optimum amount of SMA exists for best mechanical performance.

It's not exactly "happily ever after" for this royal odd couple as they try to make sense of their relationship. Life gets even more complicated when Prince Yool (Kim Jeong-Hoon) returns to the palace to compete for both Chae-Kyung's affection and the throne.

Find out what really goes on Inside the White Tower.Spring Days: Go Hyun-Jung (Sandglass), one of the original Korean TV drama megastars, returns after a ten! -year hiatus for the eagerly anticipated mini-series Spring Da! ys. Go Eun-Ho (Ji Jin-Hee) is the doctor who helps Jung-Eun find a way to overcome her past. But just when her gratitude starts to blossom into love, fate cruelly intervenes, leaving Eun-Ho in a coma. Someday: Hana Yamaguchi (Bae Doo-Na, The Host) is a successful young cartoonist. Although she writes romantic comics, she is analytical and pessimistic about love. Nicknamed the "Love Analyzer," Hana sees love as a simple biological response. But when her cartoon is discontinued, she sets off on a journey to discover what love really is. A Korean TV drama with a touch of animation, Someday tells the story of three people's journey into the crazy world of love.

The first Korean drama to integrate animation and live action, Someday is like no drama that has come before. Through outstanding cinematography and visual design, this groundbreaking drama beautifully lenses Korea's contemporary urban landscape and peeks into the moody, imaginative world of a comic book artist. Written by movie screenwriter Kim Hee Jae (Hanbando), a "movie-like drama" with top-end production values, Someday features film! star Bae Du Na (The Host), drama favorite Kim Min Joon (Lover! s in Pra gue, Damo), and rising stars Lee Jin Wook and Oh Yoon Ah from Alone in Love. In contrast with its fanciful images, the drama stays candid and grounded in its exploration of modern relationships and romance, presenting a story that is both painfully realistic and longingly lighthearted.

Although Korean-Japanese cartoonist Yamaguchi Hana (Bae Du Na) has found great success with her romantic comic books, she herself doesn't believe in love. Raised by her grandmother, she is content to live in her own world of writing and drawing, but one day her comic gets discontinued. Unceremoniously thrown back into the real world, Hana travels to Seoul where she meets Kim Seok Man (Lee Jin Wook), a kind-hearted private investigator with a tragic past, and Go Jin Pyo (Kim Min Joon), a doctor and ardent comic fan who observes life with a detached eye. As Hana retraces the tragic love story of her elderly neighbors with Seok Man and Jin Pyo's help, she realizes that she herself is ! experiencing love for the first time.

Humboldt County

  • At the edge of the continent and on the margins of society is a region of California known to some as "The Lost Coast." It is there, in HUMBOLDT COUNTY, that Peter Hadley (Jeremy Strong) a promising yet disillusioned medical student failed by his professor (Peter Bogdanovich) stumbles upon a remote community of counterculture marijuana farmers and a warmly embracing, yet eccentric family played by
Made in 1986. Like hocus pocus a bewitching tale of broomsticks and goblins. A family fantasy for all ages. Studio: Bfs Ent & Multimedia Limi Release Date: 08/24/2004 Starring: Diana Rigg Charlotte Rae Run time: 70 minutes Rating: G Director: Robert Young IiiBased on Jill Murphy's book, this charming movie is set in an English boarding school for witches--complete with orange and black school uniforms, broom-flying exercises, and potion assignments for lab. The incompetent student of the tit! le, Mildred, is played by a fetching young Fairuza Balk. Diana Rigg is the nasty head teacher, Tim Curry the (oddly) idolized Grand Wizard, and TV's Facts of Life maven Charlotte Rae does double duty as the school's kindly dean and her evil witch twin, who's bent on taking over the school. Directed by Robert Young, this 68-minute video features less than state-of-the-art effects and several songs that stop the action--most bizarrely an outdoor assembly performance by Curry that turns into a weird music video. Still, preteen girls will identify with the beleaguered heroine who overcomes her wickedly snooty rival, a teacher who doesn't believe in her, and a band of dastardly witches and, of course, saves the day. Fresh, funny and racy, Spread is a look at the trials and tribulations of sleeping your way to a life of privilege in Los Angeles. Nikki (Ashton Kutcher) is a fun-loving, freeloading hipster who understands his greatest assets are his looks and sexual prowess. His latest conquest, Samantha (Anne Heche), a stunning middle-aged lawyer, gives Nikki more than he’s ever had before. But when Heather (Margarita Levieva), a gorgeous waitress playing the same game, catches his eye, their lifestyles force a choice between love and money. Nikki has to decide whether he can live on his own once and for all in the hopes of finding something real.Director David Mackenzie trades the Scottish Highlands for the Hollywood Hills in this darkly comic fable about a male hustler. While Julia Roberts famously portrayed a hooker ! with a heart of gold, Nikki (producer Ashton Kutcher) suffers from Tin Man Syndrome: he doesn't seem to have a heart at all. As he boasts in his opening narration, "I don't wanna be arrogant here, but I'm an incredibly attractive man." (He has a point, but those suspenders have gotta go.) With his finances in disarray, he sets his sights on Samantha (Anne Heche), a high-powered attorney with an amazing abode overlooking Los Angeles. For such a sophisticated woman, she's surprisingly quick to fall for his patter. Aside from attending to her physical needs, Nikki cooks, runs errands, and makes himself so indispensable he gains the use of her Amex and Mercedes. Then he meets the more age-appropriate Heather (Margarita Levieva), who doesn't find his talk quite so cute, but she gets him in a way Sam doesn't because she's a player, too. Through Heather, Nikki finds his heart, but a real relationship proves far more challenging than a fake one. If the characters in Mackenzie's fir! st American feature, much like the gang on TV's Gossip Gir! l, are too vain to inspire much sympathy, they're still fun to watch. Kutcher's ladies' man may not be as iconic as the studs in Midnight Cowboy and American Gigolo, but then Mackenzie (Young Adam, Mister Foe) isn't going for tears or fears, but rather for escapism with a sexy, slightly cynical edge. --Kathleen C. Fennessy
